There is luggage space
and a rubbish bin at the East End of the
carriage. Carpets are dark red,
and the curtains are of a brownish colour.
BIH carriages do not contain above seat luggage
racks, however, luggage can be stowed at the East
End of the carriage.
BIH carriages do not
contain toilets, and stickers inside the
carriages alert passengers to this,
notifying them to move to another carriage
if the toilet is required.
Access to BIH
carriages from platforms is by manual opening,
self closing (controlled by the conductor)
double sliding side
doors at both the East and West Ends of the carriage. These
doors are wide enough to fit wheelchairs
through.
Air Conditioning
and heating is fitted in all BIH carriages, along
with a map of the Victorian Rail Network.
Manually opening doors allow travel between other
carriages.
BIH carriages rely
on HEP (Head End Power) from a locomotive or
power van, relayed on by the
BCH or
BTH Car for power.
