H type carriages are exclusively
used on short distance interurban services, in which
their economy seating and standing capacities allow
more commuters to fit on each train than that of an
N set. There are four
types of sets H cars are marshalled in - three car
SH sets, four car FSH sets, four car FLH sets and
five car VSH sets.
Originally fifteen sets in
total, there are fourteen H type sets in use with
V/Line at present.
The missing set, SH35, was split in 1999 to free up
carriages to add to other sets and to form five car
set VSH29.
For information on each of
the individual H type sets and carriages, please

side menu bar, or alternatively, you can access
