Introduction:-
Major maintenance works are
being undertaken from
Saturday 2nd June through
til Saturday 9th June 2007
to replace the Kilmore East
Dry Creek Bridge which due
to its present condition,
has a speed restriction of
50kph (instead of 115kph)
for all trains.
Works on the bridge
will include:
-
Completely
removing the
existing track,
sleepers and
ballast to renew
the bridge deck
-
Strengthening
the bridge
structure
-
Reinstalling
track, sleepers
and ballast
The bridge works
affect all V/Line
services between
Melbourne Southern
Cross and Seymour,
Shepparton, and
Albury.
Interurban Seymour
services will be
operating between
Southern Cross and
Kilmore East (and
vice versa), with
replacement road
coaches conveying
passengers between
Kilmore East and
Seymour.
To minimalise the
delay to passengers,
V/Line will be using
VLocities, Sprinters
and Push/Pull trains
between Southern
Cross and Kilmore
East during this
time period to avoid
having to complete
run arounds. No
trains will be
stabled at Kilmore
East during this
period of time, so a
number of additional
empty cars services
will also be
running. For service

Intercity Albury
services will be
operating between
Seymour and Albury
(and vice versa),
with replacement
road coaches
conveying passengers
between Southern
Cross and Seymour.
All but one return
Intercity Shepparton
service will operate
as replacement road
coaches between
Southern Cross and
Shepparton. One
return service will
operate as a train
between Seymour and
Shepparton (and vice
versa), with
replacement coaches
conveying passengers
between Southern
Cross and Seymour.

Whilst the bridge
works are
undertaken, partial
removal and
replacement of
sleepers on the down
line between
Donnybrook and
Seymour, and
concrete re-sleepering
at Tallarook will
also occur.
