Today, Monday 1st May, a
new H type set was out shopped from Newport Workshops - a VLH set (V
- five cars, L - includes long H cars, H - H type set)
VLH32, ex FLH32, has been
created with the removal of BIH186 from FLH32 and the addition of
cars BCH134 and BTH174 from set SH34 which was
broken up in early April.
This set has been created
to supply more seats on increasingly patronised interurban services.
The set has a total of 376
seats, and consists of :-
BCH132-BH152-
BTH172-BTH174-BCH134
Contrary to original
information received, VLH32 had its first revenue
run on 8323 - the 1732 down Seymour service, on Monday 1st May.
It is rostered to run
exclusively on 8306 - the 0701 up Seymour service and 8323 - the
1732 down Seymour service each day Monday to Friday.
The remaining FLH set,
FLH33, was transferred to Newport Workshops
after VLH32 arrived at Spencer Street. This set will have BIH186
added to it, and once returning to service, it will contain a total
of 383 seats and become the second VLH set, VLH33.
It is anticipated that it
will return to service on Monday 8th May 2006.
The FLH set page at V/LineCars.com has been updated for now, and
will be replaced accordingly with a new VLH Set page when both VLH
sets are in service.
