Last revenue service of a BS type carriage

The last remaining BS type carriage in service with V/Line, BS217, ran its last revenue services on Sunday 23rd July 2006.

N454+BS217+FN10 ran the 1753 down Albury pass., train no. 8321, which terminated at Seymour, and the 1640 up Albury pass., 8332, which originated at Seymour at 2010.

These Albury services terminated at Seymour a/c works further along the line.

BS217 was placed in the pass yard upon arrival back into Southern Cross, and was transferred to Newport Workshops along with FN10 behind N459 on Thursday 27th July.

All five of V/Line’s BS carriages are presently stored at Newport Workshops, with their futures unknown; however, there is money allocated in the state government’s $13 million refit of V/Line rollingstock and sprinters for BS cars to receive power operated doors.
