Drivers Cab
The VLocities Drivers Cab is very modern, incorporating an ergonomic design and the best of today's in cab features - CD player, fridge, and all the dials and switches you could throw a stick at!

Below are photos taken on the V'Locity Revenue Passenger Service Launch Day - Thursday 22nd December 2005.

Thanks to the member of Bombardier staff who generously allowed me time in the cab!

The first thing you see when you enter the cab - the nice leather drivers seat and control desk! An overview of the control desk, looking from left to right.

The left hand side controls and displays - covering the engines, lighting, PIDS, CD Player & faults. The centre panel with vigilance, uncoupling, climate, door, marker lights, exterior lights and horn controls, and the brake gauges and speedo. The right hand side panel with the cab clock, an communications equipment - train to base radio, local radio, emergency radio, Public Adress system The conductors area within the V'Locity Cab - with the PA handset to the left, and desk to the right.

Keypad to enter Driver # & Run # information, and also a document holder for the prep form. The in-cab fridge!!! Emergency Exit glass shattering device within the cab. A shot of the in-cab car identification number - yes, I'm in the cab of 1218!

Close up of the emergency brake (left) and main controller/throttle (right). Emergency Isolating Cock in the closed position within the cab of 1218. The switchboard behind the conductors seat - note the engine coolant levels to the left in the upper glassed area.
