V/Line's new VLocity 160 units have been in passenger revenue
operation since Thursday, December 22nd, 2005, operating the
majority of services to and from Ballarat.
Limited to a 130kph maximum speed until new TPWS equipment has been
fitted to each VLocity unit, and once the new V/Line timetable has
been released (September 2006), VLocities are set to
take minutes off the present timetabled services, giving Regional
Victorians a new, modern, comfortable and safe rail service.
At present, VLocity units run passenger revenue services on the
Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Seymour lines.
The below table shows in service dates for each V/Line interurban
line.
